Are we still holding tours?
What do we do now?
Drop in to see them!
They can also give you an Offering Making Class.
Our main office staff are still supporting our Balinese partners with their little hotel and they are now doing Tourist Visas, as we wanted to bring tourists to Bali but were astonished at the prices visa agents were charging.
And, just have we have done for nearly 15 years, we are still giving up-to-date information to tourists on our website and social media, to ensure that tourists not only have the latest regulations, but Bali attracts responsible tourists.
Check out our new Guide Book, there is so much information to prepare you for your first trip to Bali, or answer all those questions you may have had after many trips to Bali.
Our Mission
From our Owners
When we first arrived in 2008, our mission was to take small groups of tourists into the area, so the locals in Kedisan village could once again gain trust from strangers (tourists were not welcomed for many years), and to take steps toward environmental quality and a sustainable future for the community.
The primary school was our main focus, to build the capacity of the village children to support the next generations in sustaining their Ancient traditional Balinese culture, and the beautiful landscape they live in. Kedisan village has some of the most Ancient Traditions in Bali. To preserve these traditions was very important to us.
We wanted to bring awareness of this beautiful part of Bali by bringing small groups of tourists to the area, with as little environmental and cultural impact as possible.
Unlike many Westerners that come to Bali believing the children need to learn English, our philosophy was completely different. As we believe that sustainable tourism is where the tourist adapts to the place they are visiting and does not expect the place to adapt to them. Our focus was on health, hygiene, the Balinese and Indonesian Languages, and the fundamentals, such as math and science etc. But our number one focus was to ensure that every child went to school, as many were not given this opportunity when we first arrived. Through our tours (and generous donations) we were able to fund all uniforms, books, supplies, school building repairs, school ceremonies and everything needed to ensure the best future for the children. We have our wonderful tour guests to thank for making that vision come true.
We also have our wonderful tour guests and donors to thank for the medical supplies, food and clothing donated over the years for children and especially the elderly in the village, and neighboring villages.
We are honored that our work has been recognized and we have been awarded the Highest Community Award from the Bupati of Bangli (Regional Mayor), but our biggest reward has been to watch the children grow up healthy, happy and keeping their traditions.
Now in 2023
We are no longer conducting our Cultural Tours as we reached our goal to build the capacity of the locals to organise their own.
Our Balinese staff now run the business and tourists can hire a bicycle to explore the area on their own. Our staff know the best routes and the secret paths.
Our staff can hire a guest a canoe and our guests can still get out on the amazing Lake.
