We say 4 years old, but you know your child. If your child is 3 years old and can sit still in a canoe/kayak for 1 hour, then they can join in.

We will not take younger than 3 years old.

Our lifejackets are suitable for 3 years and above only.

You cannot take a baby/toddler in a baby carrier.

Our bikes are not designed to attach child seats.

Our smallest bike suits a child over 130cm. So, its not about age. Also, your child needs to be a confident rider as there are no bike lines on the main roads.

We have one larger family canoe.
You can comfortably fit 2 adults and 1 child/small teenager.

You can comfortably fit 1 adult and 2 small children in all our other tandem canoes.

Our canoes are non-tip. However, it is important that children do not stand up in a canoe.
Lifejackets must be worn at all times.

In 17 years we have never had anyone fall out of a canoe or tip a canoe. In fact, our staff have tried to tip a canoe with no success.

We have many routes to choose from, but it will depend on your childs riding ability. For younger children suggest sticking to our easy ride.
We do not have a lot of traffic on the main road, but there is not a bike line or footpath.
Some of the small roads have some gravel, so it is important to go slow.

Children 5 and under can enjoy the hot springs and entrance is actually free for those ages.

There is a childrens pool for age 5 and and over next to the main pool, so you can sit and watch your children

There is a pool for younger childen, but it is at the back, not near the Lake views. There are also water slides at the back of the property.

The weather is very different in the caldera, it is never humid.

We are 1000 metres above sea level and surrounded by a caldera that makes the climate a lot cooler.

During May-October we suggest bringing a light cover as the morning and afternoons can be very cool.

If you plan to stay the night you will need clothes suitable for colder mountain weather.

There is an entrance fee to the area, this is paid before reaching the village of Penelokan (the lookout area). This is a National Park Entrance fee for all tourists, foreign and local, the area is a Geopark. The money is used to maintain the areas infrastructure.
