Seminyak

Seminyak, upmarket shopping and sunset dining

Seminyak is a large busy village on the West of the island of Bali. It does offer a long stretch of beach where colorful umbrellas line the sand, offering many on beach dining experiences.

Seminyak village itself offers many choices of fine dining restaurants, hip bars and better known for its world class shopping of high end goods (and not the fake stuff).

You wont find rice fields or jungle here, but you will find designer clothing and cocktails, and you will find palm trees planted by hotels and restaurants to try and give it some sort of Bali feel.

Where is Seminyak?

Seminyak borders Legian and Kerobokan villages, sometimes it is hard to tell where one village starts and the other one ends.

The famous "Eat Street" borders Seminyak and Kerobokan.

Kerobokan is often referred to as Seminyak and is known for high end Villa accommodation, and some very famous places to "be seen", such as Mrs Sippy, The W, Potato Head and more.

Petitenget Beach is also in Kerobokan, in a sub village called Petitenget and has some funky upmarket beach bars.

How to get to Seminyak?

Seminyak is located on the West side of Bali (opposite side to Sanur), it is accessed off the Sunset Road, 15 minutes from Kuta or 30 minutes from the airport (if not in peak season).

Seminyak is an area you will never have trouble finding a BlueBird taxi, however, sometimes in peak season, due to traffic jams, it is much faster to walk.
