There are a lot of "Things To Do in Bali", but there are also a lot of places to go, services to use and it can be hard to choose, so we will add businesses that we prefer to use to this page and "Things To Do" as we come across them, in the meantime we would like to recommend a few places to visit while you are in Bali:
Tuban
Waterbom Park - we love it but we are just big kids, make sure you ask your hotel if the have any discount vouchers as you can save around 15%. Great day for the whole family, even if you don't have kids. Food, drinks and icecreams available in the gardens are around the same price as in the streets, so no need to leave the place for the whole day. Hot showers are free and you can hire lockers and towels. You can put credit on a writstband so no need to carry money around with you. Try the Boomerang, our favourite! Waterbom
Kuta - Poppies I
Bamboo Corner - This warung serves up Indonesian and Western food daily. You must try
the steaks, for under 22,000rp, they come with chips and vegies on a
sizzling hotplate! They also have a huge seafood basket for 50,000rp,
which feeds two! Or just try one of the many Indonesian dishes starting
from 6000rp.
Kuta - Poppies I to Poppies II
Gong Corner - This is the sister warung to Bamboo Corner. You must try the steaks, for under 22,000rp, they come with chips and vegies on a sizzling hotplate! They also have a huge seafood basket for 50,000rp, which feeds two! Or just try one of the many Indonesian dishes starting from 6000rp. Its located between Poppies I & II, just walk down the lane which joins the two (behind Secret Garden).
Sari Corner - Can't get a table at Gong Corner? walk towards Poppies II, just 3 shops up is a little version for the overflow of the popular Gong Corner. You might just see us sitting there as this is our usual eating venue.
Kuta Townhouses - Apartment Accommodation - this is accommodation central to all the shopping and fun of Kuta, the apartments are spacious and beautifully maintained (some brand new), there are two pools, a great restaurant (try the ham off the bone rolls), and AFL room so the Australian's don't miss their favourite game. Nusa Dua
Ellies Hotel Nusa Dua. Western Management with smiling Balinese Staff. Ellie's Hotel is situated in a quiet residential area a short driving distance from the tourist centre's of Kuta and Seminyak,
and a five minute drive from the beautiful Geger Beach in Nusa Dua. For
surfing enthusiasts ' Beach and Uluwatu are both within very
easy reach of the hotel.
Ellie's really is a hidden gem, an oasis
of calm and relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of daily
Balinese life. Set in a beautiful courtyard garden with its own private
swimming pool, there are three sea-view rooms, two poolside rooms and
one hill facing room. Ellies
Ubud
Venezia Day Spa - this is how we imagine Bali to be in our dreams. Massages are wonderful, but the atmosphere is what makes it, ask for a Rice Paddy view room and start your treatment showering in a rock garden overlooking rice paddies, end your treatment with a ginger tea and fresh fruit sitting overlooking the fish pond. Treatments are so well priced. A massage for 1 hour for example is only 80,000rp. A must after walking around Ubud. Venezia
Monkey Forest - Not for everyone, but we love it. The forest itself is beautiful, you can walk around for an hour or two in the cool canopy of the trees. The monkeys are cheeky and the Babies are sooo cute. Don't take in food if you don't want an up close and personal experience. Watch out for your water bottle, they will want that as well, keep your camera strapped to your wrist and don't put your sunnies on the top of your head, follow these rules and you can just observe without any problems. Make sure you go to their bathing pool, they act just like children playing.
Ungasan (Bukit Peninsula)
Waroeng Ungasan - Try out this new kid on the block, 'cheap, clean, fresh' is their motto. Classic Balinese, Modern International Menu, Free WIFI, Open Breakfast lunch and dine. We recommend the Nasi Campur, especially the Beef Rendang, great for those that want to try true Balinese cooking, which can actually be hard to find in most restaurants. Waroeng Ungasan's menu is based on the original land owners own recipe's. If you want to learn these recipe's, drop in and see Chef Gede, he loves teaching people and the best part is for only the price of the ingredients and a small tip you get to eat what you have cooked.
